Title: Prosthodontic rehabilitation of oral function: Evaluation of Patient-based outcome

Summary:

Oral functiosn can be divided into 4 stages: healthy, oral frailty, oral hypofunction, and oral dysfunction stages. Appropriate prosthodontic treatment can maintain and prevent oral function declination. To assess oral function, three types of clinical evaluation are suggested: professional evaluation of dental and prosthesis status, objective evaluation by patients’ performance, and subjective evaluation by patient-reported outcomes. Clinical application and limitations are discussed based on available clinical evidences.
